Platinum 6 system
The Platinum 6 system from Ian Heffernan & Associates is an economical solution for the treatment of domestic wastewater for single houses.
The six-person single house unit is Agrément certified and offers very low cost, compact size and minimal maintenance.
Larger sizes of the system are available to accommodate different development types. Gravity or Pumped outlet versions are available.
The only moving part in the Platinum 6 is a small compressor unit which has a 50 watt power consumption and requires no lubrication whatsoever. The compressor is completely oil-free and has no sliding parts (it is the sliding parts that can cause problems in other types of compressor).The unit is also virtually silent in operation.
The Platinum 6 has a continuous recycle system and secondary sludge return system (features normally only found on much larger and more expensive plants). These features ensure that the sewage is passed through the filter media over and over again, resulting in improved solids breakdown along with a clarified final effluent of 20:30 standard.

Tertiary treatment is available with the Platinum treatment plant, where required. This is achieved by following the Platinum with additional Puraflo modules.
The secondary treated effluent emerging from the Platinum system is passed through the Puraflo modules and undergoes a third stage or tertiary treatment. Significantly higher levels of treatment can be achieved through tertiary treatment.
The Puraflo tertiary treatment option is capable of achieving a 5:5 (BOD:TSS) standard.
